Benoy, the global studio of Masterplanners, Architects, Interior and Graphic Designers is honoured to announce that Chengdu IFS has been recognised at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards this year.
The ICSC announced Chengdu IFS as the winner of the prestigious Gold Award for Design and Development Excellence (New Developments) for 2015. The awards were presented during a ceremony at the ICSC’s premier retail estate programme, RECon Asia in Taipei, Taiwan.
Chengdu IFS is Benoy’s landmark development in western China. Conceived as a ‘City within a city’, the 760,000m² integrated development is a world-class, one-stop destination uniting Retail, Dining, Business, Leisure, Entertainment, Culture and Art. The 210,000m2 flagship retail podium is flanked by two premium Grade-A office towers, a 5-Star hotel and high-end residential properties; delivering an innovative mixed-use scheme to the centre of the city.
Ferdinand Cheung, Benoy Director and Lead Design Architect for Chengdu IFS, was at the event to collect the award and commented:
“To be recognised by the ICSC is an honour for our team. We are very proud of the design and delivery of Chengdu IFS and what the scheme has established for the city and western China. Being at the forefront of the evolving retail sector is Benoy’s calling card and we are delighted to once again see our developments acknowledged for this achievement.”
This is the fifth consecutive year that Benoy-designed projects have been recognised at the ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards. The programme celebrates excellence, innovation and creativity within retail real estate industry and honours outstanding achievement in the design and development of retail properties.
Gold winners from each of the ICSC regional award programmes will go on to compete for the ICSC’s VIVA (Vision, Innovation, Value, Achievement) ‘Best-of-the-Best’ Awards. These global award winners will be presented during the ICSC’s annual convention, RECon, in May 2016 in Las Vegas.
