CHR called in to refurbish Michelin-starred chef’s premier venue

Recognized for its energy efficient and sustainable kitchen installations, CHR was the obvious choice when double-Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan wanted to refurbish and update the kitchen at his flagship Lake District restaurant, L’Enclume.

“While this is a highly prestigious and exciting installation, the pressure for us to deliver is really on. This fast track project has been agreed to complete in four weeks from initial discussion, instead of the usual eight to ten weeks.

“Simon has continually invested and added to the kitchen over the past 10 years as L’Enclume has grown and this major refit, bringing together all aspects into one super efficient whole, is designed and built to last for the foreseeable future.”

Integral to Simon’s brief is the stipulation that the original range be retained, and where practical any existing materials and equipment be reused/recycled rather than manufacturing from new.

“Simon has a passion for salvaging anything that can be refurbished, as he does not like waste of any kind. Additionally we are in the process of installing new ventilated ceilings and bespoke fabrication as well as a new grill to complement the existing range together with a new and impressive multifunctional MKN FlexiChef.”
