Concrete and masonry roadshows in Glasgow & Manchester

The Concrete Centre Roadshows provide best practice guidance for the design and construction of concrete and masonry. The full-day events are delivered in partnership with product and project specialists, who will also be a part of an exhibition.

The Concrete Centre along with Modern Masonry Alliance, Architectural & Structural Precast Association, CONSTRUCT, Post-Tensioning Association, Precast Flooring Federation, BRMCA, CPSA and UK CARES will be delivering two best practice roadshow events. The full-day event provides 4 hours CPD and will be taking place at Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture, Glasgow, May 17th and Manchester Metropolitan Business School, June 15th.

Andrew Minson, executive director for The Concrete Centre and British Precast will open the day and will be followed by presentations that will feature case studies and exemplars, as well as technical guidance providing an in-depth look into the use and capabilities of concrete, and how it continues to innovate and evolve. Some of the topics are:

  • Specifying sustainable concrete to BS 8500
  • Novel cements and low carbon concrete
  • Achieving visual in-situ concrete
  • Concrete Offsite: case studies on structural precast and architectural cladding
  • Case study of innovative post-tensioned concrete slab design
  • Case study of the V&A Museum, Dundee (in Glasgow) and Ferrybridge Power Station, (to be presented in Manchester).
