Pupils at a Lytham St Anne’s primary school could soon be on the move after plans were submitted for a new building.

Preston’s leading architects, Cassidy + Ashton, has designed a new school for the youngsters in reception and years three to six at Heyhouses Endowed CE Primary School, working closely with Lancashire County Council and Blackburn Diocese.

The new building will replace the existing two-form entry junior school on Clarenden Road North and will be sited on playing fields just 200 yards from the infants’ base, bringing the pupils closer together.

In response to demand it will house 12 classrooms as well as three rooms for reception children, enough to accommodate three forms in each year. There will also be a hall and a kitchen, meaning children will no longer have to walk to the other building for lunch.
