29/10/2020 – Below Ground Waterproofing
Covering an introduction to BS 8102:2009 and key points to note for basement waterproofing.
This seminar looks at common types of waterproofing failure, Water-tightness criteria, and selection of materials and construction type for effective waterproofing. It provides an overview of the material types used for basement waterproofing – Type A, B and C – and looks at the application of materials on site, as well as constructional guidelines. This seminar also features case studies.
5/11/2020 – Large Format Porcelain Installation*
A CPD covering the specific requirements for successful large format tile installation. It offers guidance on substrate selection and preparation, as well as information on levelling floors and walls. This CPD gives an overview on applying large format tiles, and the selection of appropriate adhesives and grout. It will also feature case studies.
12/11/2020 – Structural Strengthening
An introduction to the various types of FRP including carbon, aramid and glass fibre, and the material properties. This online CPD looks at why structures need strengthening, and the possibilities for FRP. It discusses traditional methods vs FRP for structural strengthening, and provides design guidance for flexural, axial and shear strengthening using FRP, as well as guidance for the application of materials on site. This also features case studies.
19/11/2020 – Concrete Repair
This seminar includes an introduction to EN1504 Products and Systems for the Protection and Repair of Concrete Structures. It discusses the common causes of concrete deterioration, corrosion of embedded steel, and galvanic cathodic protection. The CPD also looks at how to identify defects, surveying, and strategies for concrete repair, as well as providing an overview of materials for concrete repair and protection. This CPD includes case studies.
