The CCI is a unique collaboration between the University of Cambridge and leading internationally-focused biodiversity conservation organisations clustered around Cambridge.
The Nicholas Hare Architects-led team has transformed the existing 1960s Brutalist building into an experimental collaborative hub designed to enhance creative interaction between the academics and the conservation partners. Five hundred conservation practitioners will rub shoulders with academics from eight University of Cambridge departments, as well as students from the MPhil in Conservation Leadership.
Dr Mike Rands, Director, Cambridge Conservation Initiative, comments:
“Nicholas Hare Architects have been inspirational to work with, they have consulted end users widely but with a clear focus, championed new ideas, fostered collaborative working and built enthusiasm and ownership for the project.”
