Entries for the construction industry’s one and only battle of the bands, Construction Rocks, are now open.
An annual event on the construction industry calendar, Construction Rocks sees bands from the construction and property sectors compete against each other in the name of charity.
It has raised a total of £60k since its inception in 2008 and is aiming to raise another £15k this year for LandAid, the UK property industry charity.
Construction Rocks is the brain child of Bill Price, director at WSP, and Nigel Fraser, director at West One Management Consulting.
“Construction Rocks is a unique event that is not only tremendous fun, but also gets the whole industry engaged for a great cause every year. More than four hundred people turned up last year as competitors, fundraisers and audience members alike love to rock! We’re aiming for our highest fundraising total this year and we’ve no doubt we can do it with the industry’s support.”
Joanna Averley, CEO of LandAid, said:
“We love Construction Rocks! Every year the property and construction industry comes together to raise money for LandAid to help disadvantaged children and young people, it’s fantastic. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing all the talent – old and new – on show.”
The 2013 winners were:
- Best band – Passiv Attack (Levitt Bernstein)
- Best new band – The Cats (Catalyst Housing Limited)
- Best fundraisers – Mr Meaner (Cluttons LLP)
