Structural defects insurer CRL is to provide the warranties for a number of construction projects with a combined value of around £31 million.
Won through a competitive tender process, CRL has been chosen by the Clanmil Housing Group to provide ten year structural warranties for more than 300 social homes to be built across Northern Ireland – with a total construction value of circa £31.2 million.
The contract will see CRL provide its industry-leading ten year structural defects insurance to ten separate Clanmil developments which are being built as part of Clanmil’s ambitious growth programme.
Richard Livingston, president of sales, CRL, said:
“We are thrilled to be working with Clanmil, and in wider terms to be playing our part in the upturn in the construction industry.
“This is a significant appointment for CRL and testimony to our continual growth in this market. We also hope that by placing this cover with us, Clanmil can have confidence in us to deliver the highest levels of service and an industry- leading product that will ensure the success of these important developments.
“This is an ambitious housing pledge by Clanmil to bring much needed housing to Northern Ireland and we are as passionate about this new venture as they are.
“CRL prides itself on providing the highest standards of warranty package – as well as flexible products for unusual builds and small and large schemes in the public sector.
“Our relationship managers have worked closely with Clanmil and its partners to ensure these ten separate developments are secured to the individual project’s specific requirements and that the very best warranty package is in place in each case.”
The housing developments, which range in size up to 79 units, will provide homes for a mix of families, single people and active older people.
CRL, which has worked with many housing associations on similar schemes, will provide its structural defects insurance for Clanmil’s sites in Belfast, as well as in Derry/ Londonderry and counties Down and Antrim, with developments all now underway.
Carol McTaggart, Clanmil’s Group Director of Development, added: “We are delighted to work with CRL as we progress the development of more great homes for people who need them throughout Northern Ireland.”
