Former LLDC Director of Design Integration appointed Partner at LDA Design

Selina Mason, the former Director of Design Integration at the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), will be joining LDA Design as Partner on Monday 29 April.

As Director of Design Integration at the Legacy Corporation, Selina led the post-Games Transformation design for the former Olympic Park in advance of it opening to the public in spring 2014. Prior to this, she was Deputy Head of Design at the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). Before that she was Director of Architecture and Design Review at CABE.

At LDA Design, an independent design, environment and sustainability consultancy, Selina will lead on creative delivery and design integration, assisting clients at a strategic level and through to project completion. She will strengthen the masterplanning and development planning business areas by creating cross-discipline services and coordinating the range of skills and experience required to deliver complex schemes.

As part of the leadership team, Selina’s wealth of experience will further position the practice for nationally and internationally significant projects, particularly phased regeneration schemes, infrastructure projects, housing-led masterplans and work related to leisure and sporting events.

Neil Mattinson, Senior Partner at LDA Design, said:

“Having had the pleasure of working with Selina throughout the design and delivery of the London 2012 Olympic Park and the ongoing post-Games Transformation works, we are delighted that she will be joining us as a Partner. She will not only help us assert our position as leaders in masterplanning and development planning, but also create new, integrated services for our clients. We look forward to this new phase in our relationship and the great contribution we know she will bring to the business.

“LDA Design’s partner team is now 12 strong, following the recent announcement of four new partners from within the business: Robert Aspland, Charles Crawford, Ashley Dunseath and Mike Foster. Together with Selina, we look forward to the fresh ideas they will bring to the leadership team.”

Selina Mason said:

“I am looking forward to my new role at LDA Design and using the wealth of experience I have gained at the ODA and Legacy Corporation on a wide range of projects. By driving quality design and encouraging differentiation, I want to create towns and cities that attract investment and are sustainable over the long term. I want to help facilitate great private and public collaboration. I know the value of vision, leadership and dialogue and, at LDA Design, I will be able to spearhead creative delivery and design integration for the best outcome.”

Dennis Hone, Chief Executive at the London Legacy Development Corporation, said:

“Selina led the design and delivery of the post-Games transformation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. She managed a multitude of designers and consultants to deliver the quality and character of the place you see today. She will be a great addition to the LDA Design team.”
