Heradesign from Knauf AMF was selected by Stuart Finnie, NorthSeven Architects, as among one of his favourite finds at last year’s show. Visit Stand 408 to see for yourself why Heradesign is becoming a favoured choice for specifiers.
Heradesign is a range of sustainable, modern wood-wool based ceiling tiles and wall panels, which are cost effective and easy to install. Architects specify Heradesign for a variety of projects because it is a unique product that can help create truly original eye-catching designs.
Snook Architects specified Heradesign to help transform a dated 1980s office block into an aspirational working environment for a firm of solicitors.
Neil Dawson explains how:
“We wanted an alternative to the traditional suspended ceiling. Heradesign ceilings are clever because, although a panelled system, the concealed grid disguises the fact that it is suspended (particularly with the nice chamfer detail on the edge of each panel). Moreover, their natural colour and size softens the feel of the space.”
The refurbishment of the London Imperial War Museum is a huge success. Architects, Foster and Partners designed the overall concept. The redesign posed a number of acoustic and installation challenges.
Clive Semark, ITC Concepts, explains how Heradesign solved these demanding requirements:
“We wanted a monolithic ceiling with acoustic qualities and a tough finish suited to the large exhibition areas. Heradesign was a perfect fit. The finished ceilings look excellent.”
Executive Architects, Wilson Mason LLP were impressed by the level of support they received from Knauf AMF. The Knauf AMF specification team provided advice on how Heradesign could fulfil the museum’s performance requirements, and developed site-specific technical details to meet the challenges of the design intent.
The UK’s leading Passivhaus architects, Architype, chose Heradesign for one of the country’s 1st Passivhaus primary schools because its environmental credentials closely aligned with the project’s sustainable design ethos and met the School’s Building Bulletin 93.
Supervising Associate at Architype, Lee Fordham, explains why he prefers the aesthetic appearance and environmental credentials of Heradesign:
“The white and natural coloured acoustic ceiling panels bring a sense of warmth and texture into the learning spaces. In all our specifications, especially for schools, we opt for non-toxic and healthy materials to create a conducive learning environment. We are very pleased with the Heradesign panels and they have become part of our standard robust palette of sustainable materials.”
