Iceni Projects, the leading independent planning consultancy, has acquired Paul Drew Design, further boosting its in-house design team.
The move comes just five months after Iceni launched its in-house urban design and master planning team – Iceni Design – with the appointment of Nivedita D’Lima as an Associate to lead the development of the service.
The deal, which officially came into effect on 1 August, will have an immediate impact on Iceni Projects’ existing client base and sector reach.
Paul Drew Design’s renowned commercial specialism in masterplanning and associated sectors of urban growth, regeneration and design codes will broaden Iceni’s influence in this key growth area, in line with its business development strategy.
Commenting on the merger, Ian Anderson, Executive Director at Iceni Projects, said:
“This is an exciting time for Iceni, as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary this year. The link up with Paul Drew Design serves to broaden our offer, which now covers strategic planning, heritage and urban design and masterplanning – meaning Iceni can now deliver its market leading service at every stage of the project lifecycle. Our business strategy includes capacity to grow the business further and we look forward to reviewing acquisition opportunities in due course.”
Paul Drew of Paul Drew Design commented:
“We have worked closely with Ian and the Iceni Projects team for a number of years and we feel this is the right time to expand on the relationship. We believe our expertise in masterplanning and urban design, combined with Iceni’s extensive industry knowledge and broad sector specialisms, will create a unique and attractive offer for clients who require a comprehensive project service.”
