Shepherd secures £64million North London mixed-use regeneration contract

National contractor Shepherd Construction has secured a £64million contract for the first phase of a mixed-use regeneration project in North London on behalf of Royal London Asset Management and Kitewood Development Partner Ltd.

The development on Capitol Way, Colindale in Brent, will see a retail warehousing site transformed into a new community with Shepherd set to deliver 379 apartments split across four six-storey buildings. The scheme will also include 60,000 square feet of retail space at ground floor and a basement car park with over 450 parking spaces.

This is the second London win in weeks for Shepherd, after the contractor was awarded the £43million Spring Mews development in Vauxhall comprising student accommodation, hotel, office space, leisure facilities and community centre.

The two-year construction programme on Capitol Way is now underway. Each of the four buildings will be clad in white render with inset balconies and timber-clad top floors.

Architect for Shepherd on the scheme will be Leach Rhodes Walker with Imtech providing mechanical and electrical services and Walsh Associates providing structural engineering expertise.
