Colindale’s tallest new building at landmark regeneration development, TNQ, celebrates its final phase of construction.
As one of the area’s largest new developments in both scale and size, TNQ is made up of five striking buildings that are helping to forge a new skyline on Edgware Road.
As the development’s pinnacle building, TNQ 1 is 17 storeys tall and includes 81 apartments and two luxury penthouses that enjoy panoramic views over London. Increasing the vertical profile of the area this event also marks an important milestone in the borough’s wider regeneration.
Named one of the four ‘Corridors of Change’, the Edgware Road is undergoing extensive regeneration to provide high quality developments, local services, improved transport and access to enhanced green space and leisure facilities.
Joe Crawley, managing director of NEAT Developments commented:
“Today marks an important stage in the construction of TNQ and a milestone for Colindale. Colindale is an area undergoing extensive regeneration, with TNQ at the forefront, helping shape a new skyline for the area. Since our launch in June, we’ve already seen huge demand for the homes, with over 75% now already sold.”
Created by innovative developer NEAT in partnership with Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) and constructed by Shepherd, TNQ’s 460 apartments and four landscaped courtyards sit some 40ft above ground level on top of the 60,000 sq. ft. retail and leisure space.
“While it is not uncommon to see homes above commercial space in London, what we have done at TNQ is create a ‘raised city’ effect. The entire development sits above the 60,000 sqft of retail space, 40ft above the ground, giving homeowners more privacy while keeping the shops, cafes, and restaurants open to the community.”
Providing more than just bricks and mortar, each apartment at TNQ offers the latest technology. Every apartment is pre wired with fibre optic cabling to support broadband speeds up to 10 gigabits; 500 times today’s typical 20 megabits broadband.
The occasion was marked with a ceremony on site, and was attended by NEAT Developments, Royal London Asset Management, as well as construction company, Shepherd.
Steve Collins, executive director of operations at Shepherd Construction, commented:
“Today marks an important stage on this high profile project, which has seen almost 800,000 man hours spent in construction with around 500 people on site each day working hard to get to this crucial stage.”
“The journey so far has not been without its challenges, with one of the worst winters in six decades last year severely restricting movements on site. We stand today, however, with progress firmly on track and concrete frames for each block completed and fit out underway.”
“We look forward to continued collaboration with the whole of the project team over the coming weeks to deliver an eye-catching, quality development of which we can all be proud.”
Currently available from £275,000, the apartments enjoy a high level of specification and a number of lifestyle extras which will appeal to professionals and young working families. Once complete, the development will include an on-site gym, crèche, concierge, and secure-covered car parking.
