Understanding how new rooflight product developments impact on building design

Specifiers can enhance their knowledge of how to use natural daylight to deliver a sustainable industrial building.

Hambleside Danelaw – manufacturer of the Zenon brand of GRP rooflights – is offering a RIBA-approved CPD seminar that addresses the role of rooflights in projects, and teaches how it is possible to use them to have a positive impact on a building’s green footprint.

Explains Ann Leeson, Hambleside Danelaw marketing manager,

“Zenon is the first GRP rooflight to achieve an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) by the BRE. This means the points contribution of such rooflights towards a BREEAM project is now tangibly quantifiable (when used as part of a metal roof, in the BREEAM Materials category). Our CPD reflects this, and covers other specification considerations, to show specifiers how to utilise the opportunity.”

The Understanding Rooflights Level 1 – NBS and Other Specification Requirements CPD is one of a series of RIBA-approved seminars available from Hambleside Danelaw.

Topics include pre-formed GRP flashings in pitched roofs, ventilation in pitched roofs, understanding roof tile underlays, rooflights within industrial buildings and as part of the metal building envelope, and GRP roofing systems. The CPD seminars can be booked online on the company’s website.

The RIBA approved seminars give attendees two points, and the non-RIBA one point, towards their CPD qualification.
