Belgian brick and pavers manufacturer, Vandersanden Group, has been awarded the inaugural Voka Limburg prize for export. The company was recently crowned winner at a gala dinner hosted during International Entrepreneurship week in Belgium.
The export award aims to recognize all export industry sectors, from services to manufacturing and encourage other Belgian companies to participate in international business development and markets. The prize recognizes Belgian enterprises that invest in both human and technical resources in various projects or activities, produce quality products and services, and remain domestically and internationally competitive.
Wilfried Lenaers, director of sales & marketing commented:
“It’s a great honour to be identified as a leading manufacturing and exporting company by Voka. Our focus has been brand awareness, building long-term relationships, creating a tailored organisation and constantly developing our teams. There is a close relationship between us and our export partners. The aim is to shape them into an extension of our organisation, offering the customer a comparable, reliable experience with the Vandersanden brand wherever they are located.”
Both nationally and internationally, bricks are still the most widely-used building material for façades in many regions, including the UK. Wilfried Lenaers continued: “We try to be extraordinarily ordinary”. Ordinary, because our neighbouring countries are our main export markets and we want them to feel we are easy to do business with. Extraordinary, because due to our export business and in particular, our ability to fulfil orders quickly during the ongoing UK brick shortage, we have grown into the largest family producer of handmade facing bricks in Europe.”
