The development has transformed the Grade II listed College Hall buildings on Knighton Road into a state-of-the-art, 160-capacity function venue.
Professor Sir Robert Burgess, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, will officially open the new centre by cutting the ribbon at 9am on October 1.
Professor Burgess and Steve Crawford, the Centre’s Director, will then bury a time capsule of objects and treasures recovered from the former halls of residence during the building’s redevelopment.
The capsule will be buried for 50 years, with a plaque bearing instructions for it to be re-opened in 2063.
Guests will have breakfast at the Centre’s restaurant, with opportunities for the press to interview Professor Burgess, Steve Crawford and Charlotte Sanders, College Court’s Business Development Manager about the building and its future.
