PTEa has achieved planning permission for a new three-form entry primary school in the London Borough of Hounslow.
Our commission includes design development in close consultation with the school and wider community, obtaining detailed planning permission, selecting a contractor by competitive tender and overseeing the construction and occupation of the new school.
The school occupies a large suburban site, allowing the new buildings to be constructed while the existing ones remain in use. There will also be distinctive outdoor areas for different kinds of sport, play and outdoor learning.
One of the principal challenges of the scheme is that it lies under the flight path to Heathrow and therefore needs to have substantial acoustic protection. The brief also includes an emphasis on achieving very high levels of energy efficiency.
