FP McCann Thin Flat and Multi Ridge Roof Tiles installed on Somerset Housing Development

FP McCann is supplying its thin leading edge interlocking concrete roof tiles branded ”Thin Flat” to a new housing development in Somerton near Yeovil, Somerset. The “Somerton Mead” site is a 69 plot collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses by national builder Bloor Homes. Bloor Homes South West division completed phase one of the Somerton Mead housing development last year. With the addition of 69 homes in phase 2 and 3, the site will comprise 130 homes between Bancombe Road and Bradley Hill Lane in the north-west of the town.

To complement the properties many of which consist of buff reconstituted stone walls to mimic the natural Somerset limestone, FP McCann Brown and Terracotta Thin Flat concrete roof and Multi Ridge tiles have been specified by Bloor Homes and installed by Taunton based roofing company, Deelis Roofing Ltd. Some 35,000 Thin Flat tiles together with 2,500 Multi Ridge tiles will be required to complete the 69 houses. The FP McCann concrete roof and ridge tiles have been supplied from the company’s new ultra-modern £30 million tile factory in Cadeby near Nuneaton, Warwickshire. FP McCann’s stylish looking low-profile Thin Flat tile is also available in Black, Anthracite and Rustic Red and features a smooth, non-textured finish and straight cut edge.

Commenting on the Thin Flat and Multi Ridge roof tile installation, Keenan Hanratty, Site Manager for Bloor Homes says, “The low-profile brown and terracotta concrete tiles give the roofs on the new houses a distinctive stand-out appearance as to our design specification. The durable tiles are easy to fix with minimum breakage recorded. We will certainly consider using FP McCann’s roof tile range on any future home building schemes”.

Further expansion at the fully automated Cadeby factory will shortly mean the introduction of additional tile profiles. All FP McCann concrete roof tiles and accessories are of the highest standard and are covered by a 15 year Guarantee.
