Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2026, Hambleside Danelaw have made their name in high quality roofing ancillaries, designed and made in Britain. Shortlisted for ‘Most Innovative Product’ at the 2025 Pitched Roofing Awards, VentRidg® is a dry fix ridge system that continues to uphold the company’s commitment to innovation and quality.
VentRidg® follows on the heels of the recently introduced SwiftRidg® system, and is used in conjunction with ridge-line mortar application, allowing for the traditional aesthetic of mortar-bedded tiles, while meeting both the ventilation and mechanical fixing requirements stipulated by BS 5250 and BS 5534. Manufactured by Hambleside Danelaw, VentRidg® comprises of specially shaped opposing GRP profiles with a mortar bonding strip on the external face and corrugated ventilation roll to the underside (Patent Application No. GB 2417868.3). This results in a surface that can receive mortar while creating room for airflow into the roof space.
Turpin Roofing purchased VentRidg® for a strip and re-roof in Eastbourne, buying it from Brian Gow Roofing Supplies. Turpin Roofing stated they “found it quite straight forward to fit the ridges using this system. It has given the customer the bedded ridges he wanted but with the required ventilation, so it’s a win-win all round.” With over 20 years’ experience, Turpin Roofing is a family-run business who have built an exemplary reputation based on high quality work.
Paul Minns, Senior Sales at Brian Gow Roofing Supplies, said Hambleside Danelaw were “great value in a market that is already very competitive. Their technical team are very helpful and knowledgeable. All customers supplied Hambleside Danelaw products have given me great feedback on the ease of installation on all that I supplied them, such as the dry fix systems (ridge/hip rolls, tile vents) … Very user-friendly, and the GRP components like bonding gutters and dry valleys etc are a better and higher quality that other manufacturers out there.
The company stated that “All in all, Hambleside Danelaw would be my first choice of supplier for roofing ventilation and GRP materials and who I’d always recommend to my customer for products that I know will last and is great value for money.”
On whether they would use VentRidg® again, Turpin Roofing said: “definitely”, explaining that “It’s not always suitable to use a dry ridge system and so this gives the extra options we need to help with aesthetics and ventilation requirements.”
VentRidg® is available to purchase at Brian Gow Roofing Supplies, as well as other Hambleside Danelaw stockists, that can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
