Constructed from high grade aluminium, Vortex is stronger than a typical shutter and the Vortex+ version boasts an innovative end retention system that locks the shutter into the guide rail, making it so secure that it has been independently certified up to LPS Issue 8 B3 (SR2) security standards and Secured By Design Official Police Preferred Specification.
These innovative features meant that the Vortex Built-In product was a perfect choice for this stunning countryside property. Physical security was needed to ensure the family home remained safe against intruders when the owners were away. As a new build residence, the Vortex Built In shutter system was specified for the minimal space required within the interior structure.
Enhancing the application by reducing the size of the structural lintel needed, the Vortex Built In was engineered to sit within the cavity and not protrude into the building. This removed the need for any unsightly head boxes, maintaining the architectural aesthetics of the property while providing an intelligent security solution.

Whilst the main function of the security shutters was to secure the property, the Vortex Built In was finished in RAL Classic ‘Pebble Grey’ colour, creating a stunning and complimentary finish to the contemporary home. Near a dozen Vortex Built In were installed with a multi-zone control system and obstacle detection facility. To meet the request of the client, the shutters were also manufactured with perforated lath profiles for the top 30% of the shutter to maintain ventilation and solar control.
