MyLock configuration tool from SALTO now includes BioCote® antimicrobial protection option

SALTO’s MyLock online lock customisation tool lets architects see and choose potential door configurations and handle set finishes before final architectural project and design definition.

In the new normal hygiene is something that will play a greater part in all our lives so MyLock now includes the option of including BioCote® anti-microbial coating technology on your project access control hardware.

BioCote® silver ion technology significantly reduces the level of microbes on SALTO door handles and other access control products such as wall readers and locker locks. This helps to eliminate the growth of microbes around a building, and assists in providing a more hygienically clean environment.

‘Antimicrobial’ is simply the term used to describe something that has the ability to resist the growth of microbes, e.g. mould and fungi. BioCote® antimicrobial protection is based on silver ion technology. It works by binding with microbes and damaging their cells in a number of ways, disrupting their normal functions and preventing them from reproducing.

On protected surfaces, it has been shown that levels of microbes can be reduced by up to 99.9 per cent in a 24-hour period. All BioCote® protected products are regularly validated and quality control tested to ISO 22196 where applicable, in an independent laboratory. Thus, the BioCote® brand is a guarantee of superior antimicrobial performance to protect product surfaces from deterioration, which is why SALTO chose to partner with them for our access control products.

MyLock lets architects select a particular SALTO electronic lock model and door type, and then choose from a broad range of colours, finishes, handles and functions. Choose the functions you need and the type of technology platform you want for your client such as SALTO Space access-management software or SALTO KS cloud-based solution.

Opening mode options like contactless smart card, smart phone mobile key app or keypad can selected as well as the door type and finish and plus a handle design and lockset finish that matches the door.

When you’re done, simply review and download your chosen configuration and documentation as 3D and 2D files, including BIM files in a variety of industry formats including Revit, STP, DWG, JPEG, PDF, and more.
