Nicholls & Clarke Celebrates 150 Years with Launch of Special Edition 1875 Tile Collections

Marking 150 years of evolution, innovation and craftsmanship, Nicholls & Clarke introduce the 1875 Tile Collections – a curated celebration of past, present and future design.

2025 marks an extraordinary milestone for Nicholls and Clarke – a 150-year journey through decades of changing fashions, social scenes, and political and economic transformations. To commemorate this remarkable anniversary, Nicholls and Clarke are proud to launch a special edition 1875 Tile Collections. A catalogue honouring the journey through a century and a half of innovation, craftsmanship and creativity.

Nicholls and Clarke were founded in 1875 in Shoreditch, London, as glass, lead, and colour merchants, and have spent the last 150 years evolving with the changing market, from the early years of producing fireplace surround tiles to becoming one of the UK’s leading tile manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.

The 1875 Tile Collections celebrates the decades of passion for surfaces, throughout the ever-changing styles, technologies and customer needs. From the richly decorative Victorian era to today’s cutting-edge, contemporary and sustainable styles. This catalogue collates collections of some of Nicholls and Clarke’s current finest designs, including the Award-winning Wall Tile of the Year range, whilst reflecting the history of tile craftsmanship and heritage.

This collection is not just a celebration of tile design, but of the innovation, artistry, and people that brought Nicholls and Clarke 150 years along.

According to David Forbes, Chairman of Nicholls & Clarke Group:

‘Our 150-year history is a story of innovation, creativity, and passion. The 1875 Tile Collections reflects this legacy – honouring our history, celebrating this milestone and inspiring the future.’
