The many faces of VMZINC

Back in 1997, VMZINC launched the first Focus on Zinc magazine with the idea of highlighting how architects use VMZINC on projects around the world. Over the years the magazine has shown a wide range of architecture, project size as well as featuring many VMZINC systems and finishes. 25 years on, Focus on Zinc 19 will be launched next month.

Whilst Focus on Zinc takes the audience all around the world, we wanted to specifically show our readers some of the ways UK and Irish architects are working. We began with our first Gallery brochure in 2014 and the 2022 edition is now available both online and in a paper format.

One of the projects being featured is Niall McLaughlin’s Magdalene College Library in Cambridge and this can be seen in more detail in ADF’s Metal In Architecture supplement magazine.

Gallery 22 also includes 19 other projects ranging from individual houses to large public and private residential schemes. Other projects include Hanover Quay, an office in Dublin with a QUARTZ-ZINC diamond shingle roof and the Pavilion restaurant at Sky TV in London which has a conical roof using tapered PIGMENTO red standing seam panels.

Whilst aesthetics of VMZINC are vital as can be seen in all 20 projects in Gallery 22, the low maintenance of VMZINC coupled with its durability of up to 100 years and 100% recyclability are equally as important and more information can be found on our website in our sustainability section.

The Gallery also highlights the need for correct installation. VMZINC has a partnership program called VMZINC&WORK. These companies have a proven track record of successfully installing VMZINC and as such can offer a 50 year material warranty – VMZINC@WORK
