Designing Its Future: How Bauder is Investing in Growth, Resilience and Sustainability

As the construction industry faces economic pressures, supply chain challenges and increasing sustainability expectations, architects and specifiers are placing greater value on manufacturers that demonstrate stability, technical expertise and long-term commitment.

Recent investments by Bauder, including a new distribution centre at Gateway 14 and the refurbishment of its UK headquarters, demonstrate this commitment while strengthening operational capability and environmental performance.

Nationwide distribution capability to meet growing demand

In July last year, Bauder opened its new 44,000 sq ft distribution centre. This investment has strengthened logistics capability and supports growing demand nationwide. Designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent standard, the facility incorporates:

  • Solar PV
  • Smart energy management systems
  • EV charging infrastructure
  • Rainwater harvesting and biodiverse landscaping

Bauder’s main UK distribution facility strengthens national logistics capability.

Sustainable transformation of UK headquarters

Bauder has also completed a major refurbishment of its Ipswich headquarters, modernising and extending the site it has occupied since 2009. Sustainability measures include:

  • A 335-panel solar PV installation
  • BauderECO FF PIR insulation with lower embodied carbon than traditional PIR
  • A mechanically fastened single-ply roofing system supporting circularity through reuse and end-of-life recycling
  • Improved thermal performance
  • Windcatcher ventilation

Together, these projects demonstrate how growth and environmental responsibility can be delivered in parallel.

Bauder’s renovated UK headquarters in Ipswich supports the growth of its technical specification team.

Committed to delivering value for specifiers

Reduced specification risk

Investment in UK infrastructure demonstrates Bauder’s long-term commitment, providing reassurance that the manufacturer behind the specification has the capability to support projects into the future.

Enhanced specification services

The expansion of the UK headquarters supports the growth of Bauder’s specification function and its team of more than 40 technicians, enabling expert project-specific guidance.

Confidence in long-term support

Bauder’s continued investment in facilities, people and operations demonstrates an ongoing commitment to technical support, project delivery and customer service.

Supply chain resilience

The Gateway 14 distribution centre strengthens product availability and logistics capability, helping reduce procurement risk.

Sustainability credibility

Both projects demonstrate the practical application of the sustainability principles Bauder promotes. By deploying its own roofing, insulation and renewable energy solutions, the company provides evidence of performance and environmental benefits, further supported by CCPI verification across 24 Bauder systems.

Bauder’s completion of these projects highlights its commitment to combining business growth with environmental responsibility while continuing to invest in the future of the UK roofing sector.
