Introducing SureSpec: A new standard in window and door specification

SureSpec is Eurocell’s fully audited, end-to-end specification system for windows and doors – designed to ensure that what is specified is exactly what is manufactured, delivered and installed.

As the UK’s first systems house to take full ownership of the fenestration specification process, Eurocell has developed SureSpec to remove the gaps, assumptions and inconsistencies that often lead to non-compliance, delays and costly changes on site.

Why SureSpec matters

Window and door specifications are frequently reused, inconsistently applied or disconnected from current regulatory requirements. In today’s compliance landscape, that approach no longer works.

Recent updates to Building Regulations, alongside the introduction of the Building Safety Regulator’s Gateway process, have significantly raised expectations around accuracy, accountability and documentation. Since late 2023, fewer than 11% of Gateway 2 applications for higher-risk new-build projects have been approved – with documentation gaps a major contributing factor.

At the same time, the government’s incoming Home Energy Model (HEM), replacing SAP, will require accurate, product-specific performance and carbon data. Generic or approximate window and door specifications will notno longer meet compliance thresholds.

SureSpec has been designed specifically to address these challenges.

What is SureSpec?

SureSpec is currently the only fully audited, end-to-end specification system for windows and doors, delivering bespoke documentation for every stakeholder involved in the fenestration journey.

It ensures:

  • What is designed is what is specified
  • What is specified is what is manufactured
  • What is manufactured is what is installed

By taking responsibility for the entire specification journey, Eurocell removes ambiguity, reduces risk and gives every stakeholder confidence that the fenestration package will perform as intended – technically, compliantly and sustainably.

Built on precision, proof and accountability

“The industry needs precision, proof and accountability, and Eurocell is taking ownership of the entire fenestration specification process, so what’s specified is what gets built”

Gary Doxey, Commercial Manager, Eurocell

Every SureSpec specification includes verified performance, reinforcement, carbon, hardware and testing data. Substituting a non-equivalent system after specification risks non-compliance, delays and additional cost – which is why SureSpec locks in clarity from the outset.

Verified on site

Every SureSpec project is also verified on site, confirming that installation matches the original specification – closing the loop between design, manufacture and installation.

Eurocell’s SureSpec represents a shift in specification culture – embedding a “do it once, do it right” approach and setting a new benchmark for confidence, compliance and consistency in window and door specification.
